Are you ‘In Your Element’? NYX Cosmetics is ready to take you there!

The new NYX Cosmetics ‘In Your Element’ Metal palette is what all your metallic mermaid dreams are made of. NYX recently sent me one of six new eyeshadow palettes themed by naturally occurring elements. I was also able to snag the ‘Earth’ palette at The Makeup Show Dallas so check out that review if you are a fan of earth tones.

The ‘Metal’ palette features 12 metallic shades. Don’t pick this up if you are looking for an all-in-one, on-the-go palette as it’s missing matte shades. I’m perfectly fine with that omission as I have plenty of matte and/or transition shades just itchy to accompany this baby anywhere. I’m more impressed that these 12 shades are different enough to stand next to each other in a palette of this size and not appear similar at first glance. Continue Reading

Austin has finally gotten the memo on fall weather! I’m so happy to be free of 90 degree weather you have no idea. I can officially create fall-appropriate looks without feeling like a complete fake in my tank and shorts!

On August 25th, Looxi Beauty is releasing 14 new eyeshadows in celebration of the fall season! I’ve been playing with them all and I’m going to focus almost exclusively on the shimmers because those are the ones I think are really going to make you all drool!

Looxi has been my favorite indie brand pretty much since they released their first collection and I lost myself in their gorgeous gunmetal shimmer ‘Pistol Whipped’. This time around, we are looking at a collection that’s warm and fuzzy and can hold you close during your latest Netflix binge in front of the fire with a pumpkin spice latte in hand. Too specific? Smokey Blues and Purples + Life Update!

Hello friends in the blogosphere! Long time no chat, eh? Thanks so much for working with me as I took some time away from Spence’s Beauty to move to a new apartment. I’ve moved something crazy like eight times in the past 7 years, but I have to say that this particular move and subsequent unpacking period took WAY longer for me than it ever has before. The last time Morphe Brushes and Jaclyn Hill released an eyeshadow palette, the Morphe Brushes website experienced a server overload like they’d never seen before. This time around, will probably be no different.

Morphe and Jaclyn are collaborating once again to bring us another limited edition 35 color eyeshadow palette launching June 21, 2017 on the Morphe website and at their Burbank, CA store. Jaclyn is bringing her MUA experience and star power to Morphe’s high quality, affordable range of professional artists and enthusiasts alike. The 35 color eyeshadow palette ranges from Jaclyn’s staple nude and gold tones to bold purples and blues. A gorgeous follow up to their previous collaboration, I’m expecting this to sell out immediately. If you are not able to purchase at launch or don’t feel like fighting the virtual crowds, Morphe does an excellent job at regularly restocking so you will definitely have a chance to purchase then.

Looxi Beauty recently launched the second part of their summer 2017 collection and it’s full shimmer goodness. I had the chance to play in some of the shadows pre-launch and this collection is everything I was hoping for from Looxi this summer. Get The Look: Jeffree Star Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette Dupes

After seeing @futilitiesmore Makeup Geek dupe swatches of the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette, I was inspired to look to my shadow collection to find some dupes for the ten gorgeous shades. I thought I cam pretty close on most of them. Some of the colors (like the shimmery bronze gold) are staples in most collections, so don’t be afraid to dig around in your stash to see what you’ve got.
