It’s been dreary and raining a lot the past month in Austin and the sky has been a spectrum of gray for what seems like forever. Inspiration crept into my head after seeing the grays float overhead.
When Coastal Scents sent me a box of goodies to try out that included their Revealed Smokey eye palette, I knew exactly what I was going for first. This palette has some intense shades perfect for the winter months. It includes a range of mauves, golds, blues, purples, and – of course – grays.
I worked primarily with the grays on the first go run with the palette and complemented it with some of the deeper blues and purples in the outer third and crease to add some dimension. The deep navy blue in this palette is to die for. I’d purchase the palette just for that color. They pigment payoff is gorgeous even without an eyelid primer and the shade comes more like a satin than a matte. I don’t have any satin navy blue eyeshadows in my collection (that I can recall) and that’s a rare phrase for a makeup hoarder like me!

I used the grays on my lid color and paired it with a sparkly white loose pigment to help my inner corner pop. Talk about getting letting your inner ice queen out! Aside from the navy blue, the right half of the palette is really the star in my eyes. The left side has a mauve and gold theme and that is mostly repetitive of the other Revealed palettes. However, none of the other Revealed palettes have the variety of deeper shades that Smokey offers. If you don’t have any Revealed palettes and are looking for a balance of colors, this one definitely offers the widest range from the brand. And you can’t beat the affordability – all the Revealed palettes are $20.
