The birds are chirping and the flowers are blooming – spring has sprung! And so have TWENTY new Looxi shadows!

Yes, you read that correctly. One of my favorite indie makeup brands Looxi Beauty is pulling out all the stops to bring us the best. Because they have gotten so much love from the beauty community, Looxi is transitioning to lab manufactured products. All still made in the USA and crafted with love – just with an extra bit of help for founder Jess and her team.
This newest launch of twenty matte shadows – 10 neutral everyday and 10 vibrant floral shades. In fact, I just planted some marigolds that looks JUST like one of the shadows “Sundaze”. There are also four shadows that are created with a “matte pearl” formula so they have a bit of shimmer to them. Think more satin, than shimmer actually.
I’ve witnessed Looxi Beauty perfect their matte eyeshadow formula for the past few years and I’ll say now that these are the best performing yet. I don’t know what tweaks were made in the transition to lab manufacturing, but I tested their boldest brightest shade “Blue Your Mind” and saw zero patchiness on application when I swatched on my arm (bare skin) and on my eyelid (over a white concealer base). In fact, I saw minimal patchiness across the board making this launch more consistent than any other Looxi matte shadow launch or some mass manufactured shades.
I’m a huge fan of the brights in this collection – “Sunny Side”, “Blue Your Mind”, “Cherry Kiss”, “Clementine Cutie”, “Naughty in Napa”, “Punk Passion”. But I’m equally impressed with the more neutral, everyday shades. In my experience, grey-ish shades tend to be more brittle in the pan leading to crazy amounts of pigment kicking up when you drop your brush in the pan. I’ve also experienced the most patchiness in the past with Looxi’s (and others) grey shadows. But these are gorgeous and beautifully made. “Doppio” and “Dolce” swatched perfectly on bare skin. I can’t wait to see how they perform over a shadow base.
