Beauty influencer (and overall goddess) Nyma Tang collaborated with Dose of Colors (DOC) on two beautiful lip collections that will have you SET, girl! I was particularly drawn toward the ‘Nude’ collection which featured mostly dark brown shades. I loved the fact that these deep tones were called ‘Nude’, because, let’s face it, that never happens! Huge kudos to Nyma and the DOC team for holding it down for the brown girls who are getting major feels from the naming right now.

Singer, philanthropist, beauty & fashion icon Rihanna is launching her own makeup line and I don’t even know what to do with myself. Over the past decade, Rihanna has set herself apart with her bold fashion and beauty choices. She could wear a trashbag to the Met Gala next year and people would still go nuts! Speaking of Met Gala, if you missed her ‘pretty in pink’ makeup look from the 2017 event, you must have been living under a rock. It’s probably the most recreated makeup look of the year thus far.
So it’s only natural that this launch be an event in itself! The line, aptly named Fenty Beauty (Fenty is the superstar’s last name) will be debuting at Sephora and Harvey Nichols at midnight on September 8, 2017. The line will be available globally upon launch. After lusting over the gorgeousness of the Summer 2016 mini lipgloss kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills, I jumped on the fall release the second it appeared on the ABH site! This set of six is perfect for the gloss lover who doesn’t want to be confined by just a few colors (the price is the equivalent of less than two full size glosses). After swatching, I’m ready to give you the low-down of my first impression below!
These new lip glosses have been slowly rolling out at Macy’s Impulse Beauty counters all over the country this month. Not all Macy’s stores will carry the pro line, so if you are interested in making a purchase, call your local Macy’s to make sure they carry the pro line products before heading over to take a look. I ended up purchasing five lip glosses and the cream contour kit (which I will review later and link here). With my purchase, I also received another lip gloss for free. The color is “Dollhouse” and it is predetermined meaning you can’t just pick any lip color for free. All the shades are gorgeous and because there are so many of them, there are more than enough colors to keep anyone busy for a very long time.
I am tremendously pleased with the selection I got from Ulta last week! The lipsticks reminded me a lot of the look of ColourPop Lippie Stix with the flat top twist out tube. The colors went on satin and had so much pigmentation it made me squeal with delight! I was not expecting to swipe once and be done. That luxury is normally reserved for my $16 MAC tubes. They did not streak and glided on without a single tug. These colors do bleed and I found this especially true with the bright red, ‘Hollywood’, which bled almost immediately when I tried it on my lips (I did not use lip liner for my initial test).
The only similarity I found with the Intense Butter Glosses and the regular Butter Glosses was in the naming series. These still have cute names that make you feel like you are picking out goodies from a bakery instead of from your makeup stash. The newest additions were thick and very pigmented in comparison to the light, sheer wash of color the original provides. The applicator wand, which is long and flat, was a little difficult for me. It almost looks like a spatula that you would use to remove cream makeup products, except it is covered with the fabric-like fibers to help the color stick to your lips. The applicator was so long is spanned the length of my bottom lip so I had to be more careful than I normally am when applying this gloss. Most times, I just like to sort of throw it on really fast before I go run errands. I feel like I would need more focus for these.

Last week I was blessed to be able to take a cruise with my mom! We visited the blue waters of Belize and the sunny skies of Mexico. After being in the sun for seven days, I am having withdrawal being back home in this 40 degree weather and I really just want to run back to the ship LOL! There was a bit of sun out today and I happened to have on a shirt I bought in Cozumel, so I thought I would put on a face to match my mood!
The one things I really miss was the glow I had in the sun! I just wanted to get that back so I used a ton of highlight on my cheeks. I used a few different colors layered so it would look more natural and dewy instead of “BAMM in your FACE”! Over my primed face, I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, which is matte. I used it because I needed full coverage and I don’t have a dewy foundation that matches me.On top of that, I brightened up my face with Revlon Liquid Bronzer on the high points of my face blended into the foundation with a stippling brush. I then concealed my under-eye area with some CoverGirl Queen liquid/creamy concealer. It gives me less coverage than my go-to NYX HD Concealer, but it isn’t as brightening and obvious on the face and that’s exactly what I was going for.

I got a chance to use some of the products that I purchased over the holidays as well as some old favorites. Some of these products are part of brand new collection roll-outs for 2015 and some products are just new to me. Now I am NOT a makeup artist. I am not a beauty professional. I just like makeup! But I really feel that many of the products I tried on my face today made it easy for me to feel like I knew what I was doing! For me, that is one of the best reviews I could give an item.
